Further Adventures in Float

In response to students on our fusing with float glass course, we have written a brand new intermediate level course to explore float glass in more depth and to enable you to develop fusing float glass in new exciting ways. The course will include twelve further techniques/materials (it’s optional how many of these you work with) for you to explore in this one day course running from 10 until 4pm. New techniques and materials include float compatible dichroic glass to highlight focal points in your composition, creating relief and adding layers of glass to increase depth, interest and richness in your pieces.

Also we are adding in the option of offering help in selecting and developing images before the course if you would like to get your course day off to a flying start. There will also be a prompt sent to you upon enrollment to help you generate ideas. Please be assured it is also fine to come along on the day and start fresh as there we have lots of inspiring samples available and access to our students blog.

A further new element we are introducing in this course is the option, towards the end of the day, to take part in a short fused glass jewelery making taster where you will have the chance to make a pendant to add to all of the other wonderful work you have made!

As usual we will have our test kiln ready to fire throughout the day to check on how unusual materials may fire and Vince will be on hand to offer advice on kilns and firing.

We really hope you will join us in this exciting course , we have been very fired up making new samples and can’t wait to share the fun and learning with you.

Our studio facilities are excellent and our teaching environment is relaxed, friendly and informal – as well as benefiting from beautiful views over ancient meadow land!
